Shalaka Mainkar

Co-founder, Pivot Point

Shalaka’s relationship with social media started long before it became her job.

She was someone who spent a lot of time on it anyway, scrolling, noticing what worked and what didn’t, consuming all kinds of content. Soon, she started seeing patterns: why one caption made people stop and comment while another just sat there, why some brands felt like a person, and others felt like a corporate press release.

8 years ago, she decided to stop noticing from the sidelines and start building brands herself, shaping the strategy behind them, the visuals, and the words that make someone pause mid-scroll.

She loves shaping brands to have real, distinct identities, sharp enough to hold their own and not get lost in the noise. People have too much thrown at them on social media today to follow anyone without a reason. That reason is usually a feeling: a laugh, a moment of recognition, something that makes a stranger feel like they know you.

It’s the same instinct she’s carried into every brand she’s worked with — Taj Connemara, Hilton Goa Resort, Vivanta Coimbatore, Le Méridien (Goa), Fly91, and many more — finding what made each one worth remembering, and building the story around that.

Jayesh Pradhan

Co-founder, Pivot Point

Jayesh has always had a flair for reading people: what draws them in, what makes them feel something, what makes them behave the way they do.

He realised what a useful skill that was in 2019, when he started his own e-commerce business and developed a real knack for paid ads. Watching the numbers move and guessing how someone would behave before they behaved that way felt like a game to him. And he’s never liked losing.

That instinct led him to start his first digital marketing agency in 2022, where he worked with big players like Club Mahindra and Taj, and brands that were just finding their footing. Alienkind was among them, a brand new cafe that he played a huge role in giving a sharp, unmistakable identity. Today, it’s one of the most talked-about names in the country, unmissable wherever it opens.

Along the way, the camera pulled him in too. He wanted to know how a story actually came together, not just on paper but frame by frame, so he picked up photography, videography and editing and stayed with them.

It’s a mix people notice fast when they start working with him: someone who moves quickly, doesn’t cut corners, and keeps his cool while he’s doing it. “Fast, precise, but chill” is how they usually put it!
